The National Trust Act, 1999 (under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India) is for the welfare of the persons suffering from Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities. It is the Govt. of India's response to the parent's question that "What will happen to my child after my death?". The Government Institute for Mentally Retarded Children, Chandigarh is running the four different types of activities under the guidelines of National Trust Act. These are as follows:
