Hostel Facility

Government Institute for Mentally Retarded Children, Chandigarh is providing hostel facility for mentally retarded children. The students whose parents are leaving outside Chandigarh may stay in the hostel for the institute. Hostel facility for 30 Children is available. Only male children can be admitted. Children are provided neat and clean dormitory accommodation with neat and clean beading. There are provided nutrias food and washed clothes. Children are taken for excursion on Sunday. Parents can visit in institute from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on all days. The hostel staff helps the children in various activities like yoga, sports, music, drawing, painting, reading, writing etc.

 The children residing in the hostel have to pay Rs 500 /- per month on account of food. The institute neat and clean mess for the prepreating of the food with two cooks and four attendants. One foster mother for 24 hours to look after the hostel children. The hostel superintendent look after the hostel children round the clock. The institute has round the clock security arrangement. Hostel Nurse is available for the children round the clock. She take care of the health of the children and take to Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The child admitted to the hostel should be toilet trained and independent in daily leaving activity. The institute has a Kiosk which is most beneficial for the placement of the children the child who leave the pre-requested of the juice bar, coffee / tea is placed at the Kiosk. Where he can earn his leaving upto some extend and also study in the institute
