Foundation Course on Education of Children with Disabilities
The foundation course on education of children with disabilities is being offered jointly by the Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University and the Rehabilitation Council of India through distance mode. The programme enables in-service teachers to imbibe knowledge, understanding, attitudes, skills and other required competencies to deal with and impart education efficiently and effectively to children with various disabilities.
It is a continuous programme, with over 1000 candidates having successfully undergoing training in 200 study centers country wide.
Objective:-
Assist students with disabilities in understanding those subjects which they cannot readily comprehend in a regular classroom.
Teach sign language or total communication to the hearing impaired children as well as Braille & Low vision aids to visually impaired children.
Undertake appropriate classroom management for children with disabilities.
Undertake remedial or dual teaching of children with mental retardation and learning disabilities
Duration:-
3 months (90 days) duration through distance mode including 3 weeks of face to face contact programme in two phases.

English / Hindi / Regional Language

Any in-service teacher at any level

Future Benefit:-
Eligible for enhancement of qualification for Diploma & B. Ed in special education.
RCI Certification:-
The successful candidates of this Foundation course will be eligible to get 'Provisional Registration' from the Rehabilitation Council of India to impart education to children with disability in integrated schools.
